This role is in an elementary school setting, guiding and supporting K-5 students with diverse learning needs. The assignment runs from August 2026 to May 2027, with a commitment of 35-40 hours per week at a single school.

Qualifications:

  • Active Special Education Certification for Nebraska is required
  • Prior experience teaching elementary-aged students is strongly preferred
  • In-depth understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Ability to adapt instruction and materials to accommodate a range of learning styles and abilities
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educators, support staff, and families
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and specialized interventions to K-5 students in accordance with their IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are effectively implemented
  • Maintain accurate, compliant documentation and progress reports
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate that supports academic, social, and emotional growth
  • Partner with parents and guardians to keep them informed and engaged
