Special Education Teacher in Joliet, IL

A middle school is seeking a dedicated and qualified special education teacher to provide support within a resource classroom setting. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work with students who require specialized instruction and individualized educational plans during the school year. The contract term runs through May 28, 2025, with an immediate start date available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support academic, social, and behavioral development
• Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to promote inclusive learning environments
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Adapt curriculum materials and assessments to meet diverse learning abilities

Qualifications:

• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois
• Illinois Special Education Teacher Certificate
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
