Middle School 6th Grade Special Education Teacher - Joliet, IL

A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available to support middle school students in a collaborative co-teaching setting. This role is ideal for an educator with a passion for fostering inclusive learning environments and meeting the diverse needs of 6th-grade learners. The position is a contract for the current school year (CSY) and is based in Joliet, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement co-teaching strategies that enhance student learning
• Develop and modify individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Deliver instruction tailored to the abilities and goals of each student in a middle school classroom
• Monitor student progress and communicate updates to families and school staff
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to support student success

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Special Education License
• LBS1 certification
• Experience working with middle school students, preferably 6th grade
• Strong communication and collaboration skills suited for co-teaching environments
