This full-time Special Education Teacher position is based in an elementary school setting in Kansas City, KS, ideal for educators experienced in low-incidence, center-based environments. The role involves managing a caseload of approximately 10 students and delivering specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Employing evidence-based instructional strategies suitable for a low-incidence population
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff to enhance student success
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional methods as needed
- Maintaining accurate records and complying with state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Active Kansas Low Incidence Special Education License is required
- Experience working in special education, preferably in elementary education and low-incidence settings
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Schedule:
- Full-time contract position covering the current school year
- Daily hours from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
