This position offers a unique opportunity to support high school students with diverse special education needs, primarily focusing on behavioral challenges within a cross-categorical program. The role demands a strong understanding of behavior strategies and problem-solving techniques to effectively meet student needs in a site-based high school setting.
Location: Burnsville, MN
Duration: Full semester contract (January 5 - June 4, 2026)
Work Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Onsite, high school program
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with Emotional Behavior Disorder and other disabilities within a cross-categorical setting.
- Implement specialized behavior intervention plans and strategies to support positive student outcomes.
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements.
- Participate actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Credential in Special Education with one or more of the following endorsements:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Developmental Disabilities
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (optional)
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges and cross-categorical disabilities in a secondary education setting.
- Strong skills in behavioral strategies, problem-solving, and individualized instruction.
