A Special Education teaching opportunity is available in an elementary school setting, fostering growth for K-5 students with mild to moderate disabilities. This role focuses on enhancing academic performance and developing essential learning skills through individualized instructional strategies. The classroom environment includes seven students supported by two paraprofessionals, offering a collaborative and supportive setting to deliver both push-in and pull-out services.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related services staff to ensure comprehensive support
- Deliver specialized instruction to students in kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grades within a mild/moderate special education framework
- Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies to maximize student growth
- Maintain detailed documentation and communicate regularly with families and school staff
- Manage a classroom schedule from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, averaging 37.5 to 40 hours per week
Qualifications:
- Valid Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education Special Education License required
- Proficiency in writing and implementing IEPs and working effectively with related service professionals
- Experience supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities in an elementary setting preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
