Special Education Teacher - Lawrence, KS

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in an onsite, long-term substitute role within a school setting. This position offers the chance to work closely with students requiring both educational and behavioral support in an engaging learning environment.

Location: Spring Hill, KS
Position Type: Long-term Substitute (Contract)

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: ASAP through May 22, 2026

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to elementary students with special needs.
• Collaborate with staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Assist with data collection, paperwork, and progress monitoring for students on caseload.
• Manage behavioral support strategies to promote positive student outcomes.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with families and school personnel.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching license with a Special Education endorsement preferred.
• Experience working with elementary students in special education settings.
• Ability to support behavioral management in the classroom effectively.
• Skilled in documentation and data collection related to student progress.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
