High School Special Education Teacher in Lexington, NC

An opportunity is available for a full-time Adaptive Special Education Teacher supporting high school students in grades 9-12. This role involves working in an adaptive self-contained classroom dedicated to meeting the unique needs of students requiring specialized instruction and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
• Deliver adaptive curriculum and instructional strategies suited for an adaptive self-contained classroom.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including counselors, therapists, and parents to support student progress.
• Monitor student growth and behavior, providing assessments and progress reports.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and development.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Adaptive Special Education Certification is required.
• Experience teaching special education at the high school level is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of adaptive teaching methods and behavior management strategies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs in a classroom setting.
