This position involves working as a Special Education Teacher in an early childhood school environment, serving a preschool caseload in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. The role includes managing morning and afternoon sessions with a total of 11 students divided into half-day groups. Two paraprofessionals support the classroom. The teacher will work full-time, 35 hours per week, from January 2026 through the end of the school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with special needs in a preschool setting
- Collaborating with paraprofessionals to support student learning and development
- Planning and preparing instructional activities, with Fridays reserved for in-person planning
- Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Maintaining a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Authorization
- Experience working in a preschool special education setting is preferred
- Ability to work in person full time, including morning and afternoon sessions
