Special Education Teacher in Lovingston, VA

A K-12 school in Lovingston, VA is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of approximately 16-18 high school students with IEPs
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans in collaboration with staff and families
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and communication
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and therapists to ensure a supportive learning environment
• Participate in meetings and professional development as required

Qualifications:

• Active or in-progress Virginia teaching license with Special Education endorsement is REQUIRED
• Experience working with K-12 students with special needs, preferably high school level
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to engage and motivate students with individualized approaches

Schedule and Location:

• Full-time, 8 hours per day, from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm
• Position located in Lovingston, VA
• Contract duration: Current School Year
