Special Ed Teacher | Madison Heights, Virginia

A K-12 school in Madison Heights, VA is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to serve a caseload of approximately 16-18 high school students with IEPs. This contract position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys during the current school year.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students' IEP goals and needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of individualized education plans.

Qualifications:

• Active or in-progress Virginia teaching license with a Special Education endorsement is required.
• Experience working with high school students in a special education setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IEP processes and special education best practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment.

Hours and Location:

• Full-time, 8-hour workday from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM.
• Position based in Madison Heights, VA.
