A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher at a high school setting located in Manchester, NH. This role focuses on supporting approximately 20 students, including around 10 juniors and seniors who demonstrate a moderate level of independence, alongside 10 charter school students. The position follows a school year calendar with daily hours from 7:45 AM to 2:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the diverse needs of high school students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Manage classroom behavior and foster a positive, respectful classroom culture.
  • Prepare students for post-secondary life by promoting independence and self-advocacy skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with high school students, preferably juniors and seniors.
  • Ability to support a diverse student population, including those attending charter schools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to create engaging lessons that accommodate varying learning styles and abilities.

  • High school setting in Manchester, New Hampshire.
