Special Ed Teacher | Marion, Indiana

Seeking a Special Education Teacher to support a self-contained classroom serving 5th through 8th-grade students in a middle school setting. This contract role runs for the current school year within schools located in Marion, Indiana, with additional placements in Delaware, Blackford, and Muncie, IN areas.

This position involves working with a small group of approximately 10 students, with smaller groups during half-day sessions in the afternoon, allowing focused, individualized support for each learner. The ideal candidate will bring a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of students requiring mild or intense interventions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Valid Indiana Teacher’s license or eligibility to obtain a permit or license in Mild or Intense Interventions
• Experience managing self-contained special education classrooms preferred
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum accordingly
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with disabilities within grades 5-8
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to optimize learning outcomes
• Maintain detailed records and reports in compliance with educational standards
