Special Education Teacher - Mebane, NC

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to provide focused support to K-12 students with severe disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), non-verbal communication challenges, difficult behaviors, and developmental delays. The role is based in Mebane, NC, within a public school setting serving a diverse caseload of approximately 10 students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Provide adaptive curriculum instruction across multiple grade levels (K-12).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists, counselors, and general education staff.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to promote academic and social development.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all regulatory requirements related to special education.

Qualified candidates will have:

• An active North Carolina license in Adaptive Curriculum – Cross-Categorical Teaching.
• Experience working with students who have severe disabilities such as ASD, developmental delays, or behavioral challenges.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills tailored to special education needs.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, approximately 35 hours per week.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
