A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to serve as an Itinerant Teacher of Record within a K-12 school setting in Merrillville, IN. This position offers a contract term for the current school year, providing specialized support to students requiring mild intervention services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to meet individual student needs.
- Provide direct educational services within an itinerant framework, traveling as necessary to multiple school sites.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 30-35 students, overseeing all aspects including progress monitoring, maintaining records, and facilitating conferences with parents and staff.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to adapt curricula and interventions that support student growth and compliance with educational standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Licensure with a focus on Mild Interventions required.
- Prior experience working as a Special Education Teacher in a K-12 environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a mid-sized caseload efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and school personnel.
- Flexibility to work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with the possibility of an additional half-day to meet caseload demands.
