Special Education Teacher - Metairie, LA

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher serving students in a K-12 school environment in Metairie, LA. The position is a contract role for the current school year, designed for professionals with active Louisiana Department of Education certification in special education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction tailored to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive student support.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with state and district guidelines.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana DOE certification in Special Education.
• Experience working within a K-12 school setting, preferably within special education.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and accommodations.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Location and Schedule:

• Position based in Metairie, Louisiana.
• Full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, typically 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
