A full-time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher position is available in the Minden, LA area, with service extending to various elementary school sites. This contract role spans the current school year, ending May 19, 2026.

Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction to 3–4-year-old students in their homes, daycares, or Head Start centers through an itinerant model that requires travel between assigned locations. The teacher is responsible for delivering developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with state and local standards while ensuring full Individualized Education Program (IEP) compliance. This involves leading IEP meetings, rigorously monitoring student progress, and maintaining accurate electronic records. Collaboration with parents and community partners is essential to support each student’s academic and social growth. The role also involves organizing mobile learning environments and incorporating technology to foster a positive, engaging educational atmosphere.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Louisiana Early Childhood Special Education certification or teaching certificate
  • Experience working with young children with special education needs
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage itinerant responsibilities, including travel between multiple school or community sites
  • Proficiency in progress monitoring, data collection, and electronic record-keeping
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families and community stakeholders
  • Skills in designing and implementing developmentally appropriate instructional strategies

Location: Minden, LA – Onsite only
Position: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Duration: Contract through May 19, 2026
