A Special Education Teacher position is available within a K-12 school setting in Minneapolis, MN, on a contract basis for the current school year. This role focuses on providing tailored educational support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to create an inclusive learning environment
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to support students with disabilities across multiple grade levels
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary to ensure educational goals are met
- Maintain accurate records and comply with state and federal special education regulations
- Foster a supportive and positive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and independence
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students K-12 in special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to design and deliver differentiated instruction
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of applicable laws, policies, and best practices related to special education
