Special Education Teacher in Minneapolis, MN

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school located just northwest of Minneapolis, MN. This contract opportunity is for the current school year (CSY) and requires onsite presence. The role involves managing an elementary caseload (grades K-3) with approximately 17-18 students under your case management. Experience working with the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) population is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs in an elementary setting
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for caseload students
• Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to support student growth and inclusion
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
• Provide behavior support and interventions as needed, particularly for students with ASD
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions for ongoing professional development

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Proven experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, policies, and best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage a caseload of 17-18 elementary students with varying needs
