An exciting opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Behavior and Cross-Categorical needs at the elementary level. This leave replacement contract position runs from January 5 to March 6, 2026, and is based onsite in Burnsville, MN. The role involves supporting a site-based program serving students with diverse disabilities, with a manageable caseload of six to eight students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral support to students with varying special education needs.
  • Collaborate closely with a team of two other site-based special education teachers.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate strategies aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and social growth.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adapting instructional approaches as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Hold a current Minnesota Teaching Credential in Special Education, with any of the following endorsements preferred:
    • Autism Spectrum Disorders
    • Developmental Disabilities
    • Early Childhood Special Education
    • Emotional Behavioral Disorders
    • Learning Disabilities
    • Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (optional, but beneficial)
  • Experience working within elementary special education settings.
  • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and cross-categorical instructional approaches.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Burnsville, MN (onsite)
