An opportunity is available for a Specialized Instructional Coach focused on Special Education within a K-12 school setting in Minneapolis, MN. This contract position runs from January 5, 2026, through June 5, 2026, with approximately 36.25 hours per week. The role primarily centers on supporting educators with special education compliance, intervention strategies, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Responsibilities include:
- Working within one school building to provide guidance and coaching to teachers, particularly in special education areas.
- Ensuring the school or district remains fully compliant with special education laws, timelines, and due process requirements.
- Monitoring legal steps, student rights, required paperwork, and timelines to support adherence to state and federal regulations for students with disabilities.
- Collaborating with educators to improve instructional practices related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (EBD).
Qualifications:
- Valid Tier 3 or Tier 4 teaching license in Minnesota.
- Specialized licenses in ASD or EBD (Tier 3 or 4) are required.
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher or Specialized Instructional Coach is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of special education legal compliance, due process, and intervention frameworks.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage caseload and ensure documentation accuracy.
