Special Education Teacher in Muskegon, MI

This position seeks two Special Education Teachers to provide specialized instruction within a K-12 school setting in Muskegon, MI. Both roles are contract-based for the current school year (CSY) and focus on serving diverse student needs.

Role 1: Early Childhood Special Education

• Deliver targeted support and instruction to young learners with disabilities
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Utilize age-appropriate strategies and interventions to promote developmental progress

Role 2: High School Special Education

• Work with high school students aged 15-19 receiving special education services through a coordinated system
• Implement effective teaching approaches tailored to students’ academic and functional goals
• Facilitate transition planning, social skills development, and life skills enhancement

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience in Early Childhood Special Education for Role 1, or secondary/high school special education for Role 2
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and assessment strategies
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to partner with students, families, and educators

Location: Muskegon, Michigan (K-12 public school environment)
