A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to provide coverage during a medical leave at an elementary school in Mystic, CT. This role is designed to support resource services for students in grades 2 and 3, ensuring continuity and quality of education during the leave period.
Assignment Details:
- Position Type: Special Education Teacher Sub
- Duration: January 21 to March 11, including two days on each end for overlap and shadowing
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM
- Caseload: Supporting 16 students requiring special education resource services in grades 2 and 3
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and support aligned with each student’s IEP
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement educational plans effectively
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and engagement
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding student needs and services
