This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support high school students in grades 8 through 12 within a resource caseload setting. The role is designed for a part-time commitment totaling 20 hours per week, with a schedule including partial days on Mondays and full days on Wednesdays and Fridays. This position offers a direct hire arrangement, providing stability and a chance to contribute significantly in a well-structured educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Manage a resource caseload of approximately 10 students, focusing on individualized learning plans and accommodations.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student progress and compliance with IEP goals.
- Monitor and assess student performance, adapting strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain clear and timely documentation in accordance with special education regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Mild/Moderate Special Education teaching license.
- Experience working with high school students, preferably in a resource setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavior management.
- Ability to manage and motivate a caseload of students requiring specialized support.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams.
