This opportunity is for experienced special education teachers dedicated to making a meaningful impact on students with diverse learning needs in a K-12 setting. The role focuses on supporting a high-needs population of students with autism and secondary disabilities, primarily in late elementary and high school grades. These students often use communication devices and benefit from a high staff-to-student ratio, allowing for specialized and individualized support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing individualized education plans tailored to students with autism and secondary disabilities.
- Supporting functional classroom activities focused on communication, community experiences, and daily living skills.
- Working with predominantly nonverbal students to enhance their educational and social development.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a comprehensive support system.
- Managing a supportive and adaptive learning environment that meets each student's unique needs.
