A K-12 school in New Orleans, LA is seeking Special Education Teachers for a contract position available from ASAP through 5/22/2026. This role requires an active Louisiana Department of Education certification and experience serving students in a special education setting. Candidates must be currently certified and ready to work without delay.
Responsibilities include delivering individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, collaborating with classroom educators and support staff, and maintaining detailed records of student progress. The position entails a 35-hour workweek, typically 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Qualified candidates should demonstrate the following experience and skills:
- Valid Louisiana DOE certification in Special Education
- Knowledge of special education regulations and best practices for K-12 students
- Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and staff
- Experience supporting a range of disabilities, including adapting instruction as needed
