Special Ed Teacher | Newark, Delaware

A dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time, onsite position serving high school students in grades 9 through 12. This role involves managing a caseload of 25 inclusion students, providing tailored support and instruction to help each student achieve their academic and personal goals. The position requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week and offers the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative educational team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for 25 inclusion students.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom environments.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
• Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance instructional practices.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience working with high school students (grades 9-12) in a special education setting.
• Strong understanding of individualized instruction and inclusion strategies.
