This opportunity is ideal for dedicated Special Education Teachers ready to support diverse student needs across multiple grade levels within a K-12 setting in Norwich, CT. The position is a contract role for the current school year, offering a meaningful chance to make a positive impact in students’ educational journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs in both resource and academic intensive programs.
  • Implement behavior intervention strategies within a therapeutic academic environment.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching teams to develop and adapt individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation in accordance with state and federal requirements.
  • Support students in Grades 2-12 across several programs, including behavior, resource, and academic intensive learning settings.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification.
  • Experience working with students in a range of grade levels, particularly Grades 2-12.
  • Strong understanding of behavior management and therapeutic instruction techniques.
  • Ability to develop individualized learning plans and adapt curriculum accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Program Details:

  • Behavioral program for Grades 5-8 (4 students) and Grades 9-12 (7 students).
  • Resource teaching in Grades 2-4 (15 students).
  • Academic Intensive Learning Program for Grades 2-4 (4 students).
