Special Ed Teacher | Norwich, Connecticut

A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher to provide substitute coverage during a medical leave in Norwich, CT. This role involves delivering specialized resource services to a caseload of 16 second and third-grade students.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing special education resource support tailored to students’ individual needs
• Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional methods accordingly
• Participating in overlap and shadowing for two days prior to and after the assignment for smooth transition

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Valid special education teaching certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably grades 2 and 3
• Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and implementation
• Ability to manage multiple student needs within a resource setting
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Location and schedule:

• Norwich, Connecticut
• Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM
• Contract period: January 21 through March 11, including two additional days for transition
