A special education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary school in Oak Creek, WI, focusing on an Intellectual Disability self-contained classroom. This contract position is for the current school year (CSY) and involves working closely with a small group of about eight students. The classroom serves a multi-age group spanning kindergarten through 5th grade.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with intellectual disabilities
- Provide instruction tailored to multi-age groups, supporting social, emotional, and academic growth
- Collaborate with school staff and families to create a supportive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain classroom management and document student data as required
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working in self-contained classrooms with students having intellectual disabilities
