This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to serve students across K-12 in Oregon City, OR. This full-time, onsite contract position runs from ASAP through June 5, 2026, supporting various specialized classroom settings within a local school district.
Available positions include:
- 2 Elementary Developmental classrooms (15 students each; focus on Behavior, ASD, and Communication needs; supported by 6 assistants)
- 1 Elementary Behavior classroom (Grades 3-5; 16 students; supported by 5 assistants)
- 1 Middle School Resource classroom (40 students; shared with 2 assistants)
- 1 Elementary Resource across 2 nearby sites (35 students total; 1 assistant per building)
- 1 Middle School Behavior classroom (15 students; 5 assistants)
Key qualifications:
- Active Special Education certification/license in Oregon
- Ability to manage diverse needs including behavioral and developmental challenges
- Contact information for a recent supervisory reference is required for consideration
Primary responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals to deliver effective instruction and behavioral supports
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters development and growth
- Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and support personnel
