A middle school in Overland Park, KS is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time position focuses on providing Social Emotional Resource support for students with high incidence disabilities, helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Provide social-emotional support and resources to middle school students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
Qualifications:
- Active Kansas Special Education License required.
- License or endorsement for high incidence disabilities strongly preferred.
- Experience working with middle school students, especially in social-emotional contexts, is desirable.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Location: Overland Park, KS
Position Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), W-2 contract for the 2025-2026 school year
