A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in a contract role for the current school year. This position is focused on providing individualized instruction and support within a dedicated learning environment, where students spend the majority of their day working alongside a paraeducator. The role is based in Palmyra, VA, serving middle school grades, and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ educational journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate closely with related services staff to ensure comprehensive support
- Provide targeted instruction within the special education classroom setting
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere promoting growth and development
Qualifications:
- Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education License in Special Education (required)
- Proven ability to write and implement effective IEPs
- Experience working with related services teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners in a middle school setting
