Special Ed Teacher - Park City, Montana

A Special Education Teacher is needed for a K-12 school serving grades 6 through 12 in Park City, MT. This contract-to-hire position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, aligned with the school calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with students, particularly those experiencing mental health challenges.
• Manage a caseload of 8-12 students, with some classes having as few as 4-5 students due to the variety of course offerings including Vocational Agriculture, Woodworking, PE, Art, Music, Business Education, Technology, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Special Education, and English.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support student progress in both academic and behavioral goals.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education certification.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and mental health struggles.
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation.
• Ability to complete training and become certified in Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP), focusing on de-escalation techniques and safe person-to-person restraints when necessary.
