Special Ed Teacher | Pawtucket, Rhode Island

A school district in Rhode Island is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support an 8th-grade sub-separate classroom for students with intellectual disabilities. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with a small caseload of four students, facilitating a personalized and impactful teaching experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized education plans tailored to each student’s needs
• Collaborating with support staff and related service providers to promote student growth
• Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters development and independence
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly

Qualifications:

• Valid Rhode Island Moderate (5–12) or Severe Special Education Teaching License required
• Out-of-state licenses will be considered for qualified candidates
• Demonstrated passion for special education and individualized instruction
• Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary support teams
