Special Education Teacher in Pawtucket, RI

A school district in Rhode Island is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support an 8th-grade sub-separate classroom serving students with intellectual disabilities. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver personalized instruction tailored to the educational goals and abilities of students with intellectual disabilities

• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to maximize learning outcomes
• Work closely with support staff and therapists to coordinate services and interventions
• Maintain detailed documentation and communicate regularly with families and school personnel

Qualifications:

• Valid Rhode Island Moderate (Grades 5–12) or Severe Special Education Teaching License required
• Out-of-state licenses will be considered, with potential for reciprocal licensing
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities preferred
