Special Ed Teacher | Piscataway, New Jersey

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support a middle school caseload on a short-term leave contract, located in Piscataway, NJ. This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about providing tailored instruction to diverse learners and have the necessary certification in special education.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a caseload of approximately 35-50 students, distributed across five classes over two days, with class sizes ranging from 7 to 10 students.
• Delivering specialized instruction in Language and Learning Disabilities (LLD) and Emotionally Responsive Intervention (ERI) classes.
• Adapting and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Collaborating with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Maintaining accurate records, progress reports, and communication with parents and school personnel.

Qualifications:

• Valid Teacher of the Handicapped certification or Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification accompanied by a subject area endorsement.
• Experience working with middle school-aged students and familiarity with LLD and ERI instructional strategies.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple classes and student needs effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
