Special Ed Teacher | Pittsford, New York

This contract opportunity is perfect for a Special Education Teacher seeking flexible, per diem work. You’ll work on-site, stepping in as needed between January 12, 2026, and June 26, 2026, ensuring students continue to receive essential educational and behavioral support.

Role Requirements:

• Valid New York Special Education Teacher license (must submit a PDF copy with resume)
• Experience working in special education settings with diverse student populations
• Strong classroom management and adaptive instructional skills
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and flexibility

Responsibilities:

• Serve as an on-site substitute, filling in for absent Special Education Teachers on an as-needed, per diem basis
• Provide direct instruction, support, and accommodations to students in accordance with their IEPs
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment to ensure student engagement and safety
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation on attendance and lesson implementation
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity of student learning
• Adapt quickly to new routines, classrooms, and instructional needs
• Support student behavior plans and reinforce classroom expectations
