A middle school is seeking a Special Education Teacher to cover a maternity leave through December 1, 2025. This contract position serves students in grades 6-8 with a caseload of 25-30. Instruction will focus on both push-in and pull-out groups, supporting students in reading, writing, and phonics using the Wilsons program.
Ideal candidates will hold certification as a Special Education Teacher or Reading Specialist and demonstrate experience working with middle school learners. The teaching schedule is part-time, offering 4-8 hours per day from Monday to Thursday, allowing for a balanced work schedule while making a significant impact on student learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction for reading, writing, and phonics (Wilsons) to students with special needs
- Manage a caseload of 25-30 middle school students in grades 6-8
- Deliver services through both push-in and pull-out instructional models
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to meet student goals
- Track academic progress and adjust instruction to student needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Special Education Teacher or Reading Specialist
- Experience with middle school populations and instructional push-in/pull-out services
