Special Education Teacher in Prior Lake, MN

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a center-based middle school located in Prior Lake, MN, supporting students with autism and similar needs. This opportunity is a contract role running from April 6 through the end of the school year, providing specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting. The classroom is designed to serve six students, ensuring focused and personalized support.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering tailored instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with autism and other related disabilities.
• Collaborating with a dedicated team composed of three special education teachers and five paraeducators.
• Managing a self-contained classroom environment that fosters growth, engagement, and learning.
• Conducting assessments and developing individualized education plans (IEPs) to track student progress and adapt teaching methods.
• Maintaining clear communication with families, colleagues, and support staff.
• Ensuring compliance with special education policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience working with middle school-aged students with autism and related disabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
