An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support a K-12 school in Providence, RI. This contract position will span the current school year, working closely with students who require specialized instruction and support. The role focuses on fostering an inclusive learning environment that meets diverse educational needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and challenges
- Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create accessible curriculum modifications
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting strategies to optimize learning outcomes
- Maintaining detailed documentation and reports consistent with legal requirements and school policies
- Engaging with families to promote communication and involvement in their child’s educational journey
- Creating a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere that supports social and academic growth
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid state certification or licensing in special education
- Demonstrated experience working with students across K-12 grades with varying disabilities
