A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support students in a K-3 self-contained classroom within an early childhood school setting. This contract role, based onsite in Providence, RI, begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Deliver tailored instruction to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students in a self-contained classroom environment
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive student support
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in assessment and reporting processes
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere for young learners
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification or license for Early Childhood Education
- Experience working with K-3 students in a self-contained special education setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and families
- Commitment to fostering student development and adapting instruction to meet diverse learner needs
