A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the remainder of the current school year in a K-12 public school setting located in Rainier, OR. This contract role is set to begin in January, immediately following the Christmas break.
The position requires dedicated instruction for grades 3-6, primarily focusing on a resource caseload of approximately 32 students. The successful candidate will provide specialized teaching across core subjects including Reading, Writing, Math, Social Emotional learning, and Study Skills. The school day runs from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM, with a full 40-hour workweek.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized and small group instruction tailored to student IEPs within a resource setting
- Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments
- Assessing student progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
- Managing behavioral and social-emotional needs to support student success
- Maintaining thorough documentation and communication with families and the educational team
Preferred qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Teaching License with a Special Education Endorsement
- Experience working with elementary students in grades 3-6, ideally within resource or inclusive settings
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavior management techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
