Special Ed Teacher | Ridgewood, New Jersey

A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting located in Ridgewood, NJ. This role focuses on providing tailored educational support to students with special needs, promoting their academic and social development. The position is for the current school year (CSY).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning abilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress
• Monitor and document student performance and behavior, adjusting strategies as needed
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters growth and learning

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Ability to create individualized lesson plans and provide differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and staff
