Special Ed Teacher | Saginaw, Michigan

An elementary school in Saginaw, MI is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students in grades K-5 within a resource classroom setting. This contract position focuses on working with students who have a range of disabilities, providing tailored instruction and support to enhance their educational experience.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to K-5 students in a resource classroom, adapting educational materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records of academic and behavioral data
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and engagement
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensure appropriate for K-5 instruction
• Experience working with elementary students exhibiting a range of disabilities
• Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning atmosphere

Schedule: 35-40 hours per week
