Resource Room / Special Education Teacher – 2 Onsite Openings
Location: Saginaw, MI (Urban K-12 School)
Duration: 2025-2026 School Year (Approx. 01/26/2026 – 06/12/2026)
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week

This position is ideal for special education professionals seeking a contract role in a dynamic urban school environment. The role primarily involves managing self-contained classrooms with caseloads up to 22 students. Caseloads may include Early Learning (Pre-K and up) through K-12 levels. Preference will be given to candidates holding an Emotional Impairment (EI) and Cognitively Impaired (CI) endorsement or Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Early Childhood (ZA) endorsement alongside another special education area. For resource room assignments, a Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement is acceptable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction and support to students with special education needs in resource rooms or self-contained classrooms.
  • Develop individualized education plans in accordance with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with staff and families to address educational challenges specific to urban settings and student needs.
  • Maintain caseload management and monitor student progress effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with required special education endorsements (EI, CI, LD, or ZA).
  • Knowledge of MARSE and IDEA federal regulations related to special education.
  • Experience working with diverse urban student populations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
