Special Education Teacher in Saint Johns, FL

A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in elementary self-contained classrooms. This role involves leading a diverse classroom of students with varying exceptionalities and learning levels, providing tailored educational support in alignment with individual needs.

Location:

• Jacksonville, FL
• Elementary School Setting
• On-site role, full-time (35 hours per week)

Start and End Dates:

• January 5, 2026, through May 28, 2026

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction to elementary-aged students in a self-contained special education classroom
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate students’ various exceptionalities and learning abilities
• Collaborate with educational staff and support personnel to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and the educational team
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and development

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Florida Special Education (ESE) certification
• Valid Florida certification in Elementary Education (K-6) or Early Childhood Education (PK-3)
• Experience leading self-contained classrooms preferred
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and special education best practices
