Elementary Special Ed Teacher | Saint Paul, Minnesota

An in-person special education teaching opportunity is available to support an elementary social-emotional learning classroom dedicated to students with autism and emotional or behavioral disorders. This role focuses on implementing structured routines and behavior regulation strategies while fostering social-emotional skill development.

Responsibilities include managing a caseload of approximately 12 students, collaborating closely with two assigned paraprofessionals to deliver targeted behavior support, and tailoring instructional approaches to meet the unique needs of each student. The teacher will develop individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with best practices for special education and behavioral interventions. Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment is essential to this position.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Valid special education teaching credentials and licensure
• Proven experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders and emotional/behavioral challenges
• Strong background in behavior management and social-emotional learning frameworks
• Ability to design and implement structured routines and positive behavioral supports
• Effective collaboration skills to work alongside paraprofessional team members
• Commitment to student-centered instruction and fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere
