A Special Education teaching opportunity is available in Saint Paul, MN, supporting elementary students with mild to moderate needs from kindergarten through 5th grade. This contract position focuses on enhancing academic growth and essential learning skills by implementing individualized instruction tailored to students' unique requirements.
The role involves working in a small classroom setting with 7 students alongside 2 paraprofessionals. Most students are in kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 4th grade. The schedule is consistent, Monday through Friday, from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, totaling approximately 37.5 to 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with students’ needs and state standards
- Deliver instruction through both push-in and pull-out methods to promote student achievement
- Collaborate with related services staff to provide comprehensive support
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with team members and families
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education License in Special Education is required
- Experience working with K-5th grade students with mild/moderate special needs
- Demonstrated ability to write and implement IEPs
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
