This opportunity seeks an experienced Special Education Teacher to support high school students at a charter school setting. The role involves working with approximately 10 high school students, primarily juniors and seniors, who demonstrate a good level of independence and require specialized support.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering individualized and group instruction tailored to the learning needs of high school students with disabilities.
- Implementing special education programs in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Monitoring and assessing student progress to adjust instructional methods as needed.
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with special education regulations.
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with high school students, particularly those with varying independence levels.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in a contract or extended school year (CSY) position is a plus.
- Ability to maintain a supportive and structured classroom environment.
This position follows a schedule from 7:45 AM to 2:30 PM during the contract period. The location is situated in Salem, NH, within a high school environment.
